About the play: from Henry Godinez:
“Bolero’s for the Disenchanted is very autobiographical, Jose Rivera wrote it and it’s very much inspired by the life of his own mother, and father as well but focusing primarily on his mother. It’s a story of a young woman who we meet in 1953 in Puerto Rico, who is engaged, find’s out her fiance is cheating on her, moves away, falls in love, get’s married, and we follow their lives many years later. It’s the most moving play I’ve ever directed.

If you’ve ever been in a long term relationship, and have a sense of what commitment, fidelity, trust, and what faith is all about…even if you haven’t…if you’re a human being, there’s no way that you won’t be moved by this play.”
